CHF Employment Opportunities
Carriage House Farm is a 300-acre farm with just over an acre in non-certified organic vegetable production. Our farm has been owned and farmed continuously since 1855 by the Stewart Family (now 5th and 6th generation farmers). Located at the junction of three rivers and three states, just 20 miles from Cincinnati, we are nestled in a river valley between hilly outcrops once frequented by the Shawnee. We produce vegetables year-round, but also keep bees for honey, mill grains, ferment vinegars, board horses, grow hay for the horses, produce commodity soybeans, and host weekly farm-to-table dinners by Cincinnati chefs. To develop this diversity of enterprises, our 2019 team will include 4 full-time employees and about 7 part time employees, with 3-4 of those focused solely on vegetables. Next year, the vegetables we produce will support more than 50 CSA families, over 50 Cincinnati restaurants & vendors, our on-farm market, and customers at Cincinnati’s premiere Findlay Market.
Vegetable Production Co-Manager
Carriage House Farm is a production farm with a strong focus on growing a regional food culture. In the garden, we spend the vast majority of our time harvesting, washing and packing, but are constantly innovating and learning from the plants around us. For 2019, we are looking for a teammate to co-manage vegetable production - autonomously managing harvests and plantings, while bringing a new perspective on production techniques.
