Getting the Band Back Together

We were super lucky this past year to host Oliver Fanfan as an intern for 6 weeks while here in the States from Mauritius through The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders. He was a huge help throughout August and September, and we easily learned as much from him as he did from us.

It was such a great experience that we couldn't let it end there. So, as an offshoot of Oliver's original fellowship, Oliver and Greg Nicaise (CHF garden manager) applied for an additional grant to bring Greg to Mauritius to to help Oliver out in his neighborhood garden project: IslandBio. They got the funding and Greg gets to spend several weeks farming on a small island nation in the Indian Ocean. . . and see Oliver again.

We're excited for both of them and not a small bit jealous. Here's a picture of Mauritius. . . no really.
