The Return of the On-Farm Dinners

So, it has been nearly two years since our last on-farm dinner. It’s been a while and it is one of the most commonly asked questions we hear: “Are the dinners ever coming back?”

Yes, they are and we are happy to announce that they begin about two months from now, in September. The first will be the Cincinnati Zoo’s Chef Dana Adkins on September 26th and from there we will see several chefs rotate through, including a multi-course, multi-chef dinner sometime in October (date to be determined).

So, what is going to change?

First, the Covid-19 pandemic forced Carriage House Farm to change a bit to adapt to the chaotic environment of restaurant closures. We now have a food license and that means our dinners will be a bit larger (about double) than they were. We expect most dinners to be about 30 people. We will accommodate distancing with a single larger table for those that want the group experience and we will have smaller tables for parties up to six who wish to have a more private experience.

Second, the price per plate for the dinners will go up a bit. Costs on everything has gone up unfortunately. That said, with the Lost Bridge Beverage Company now calling Carriage House Farm home, we will also be serving drinks with the meal so the price per person will include alcohol.

Third, all dinners will take place on the terrace at our new facility located at 2872 Lawrenceburg Rd.. The previous garden site needs some TLC that we cannot complete before the end of the outdoor dining season. Our new patio and fire pits will make the experience very enjoyable, if not similar. Each of the dinners will also take place on a Sunday evening to work around our busy farm market schedule and Chloe’s Eatery casual dining business.

We are also lifting the bar a bit on what we allow to be served and to assure that this happens, the Lost Bridge Beverage Company’s co-owner Justin Dean will be running the series, working with the chefs and helping them plan menus and source both from Carriage House Farm and other local sources. Our goal is to get back to what folks experienced during the dinners from 2014 to 2018.

So, lots of changes, but they are good changes and we think they will show up in the quality of the experience that guests have at the farm. We are so excited to be doing this again.

We hope to see you at this year’s 2021 Autumn Dinner Series!
